Jeremy Newman took up the role as CEO of BDO International on 1 October 2008, succeeding Frans Samyn.

Formerly Managing Partner of the network’ s UK Member Firm, he led BDO Stoy Hayward through a restructuring process which ultimately resulted in record levels of both fee income and staff numbers. He was known nationally for giving the firm a market presence as ‘employer of choice’ and for his strong stance on the issue of competition and choice in the UK audit market.

He was known also for his online blog – the only one by a senior individual within the financial services market in the UK, now archived on the BDO Stoy Hayward web site in read-only format.  A familiar figure already in the blogosphere, he intends to continue airing his opinions and inviting debate in his new international role. In this blog he will share his thoughts on the task that lies ahead and the challenges that face the network at global level.
